On February 11, 2016, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR) issued a construction permit to the city of Otterville, Missouri to upgrade their existing 3-cell lagoon system utilizing the BiO2 Solutions technology.

The city’s permit from DNR required the system to provide disinfection immediately and meet new ammonia limits by 2021.  In addition, the city was having difficulty consistently meeting its current limits for Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) and Total Suspended Solids (TSS).  It is projected that the upgrades to the lagoon system utilizing the BiO2 technology should be fully operational no later than September 2016.  Once the system is fully operational, the lagoon system will not only meet the current disinfection requirements but will also meet the new ammonia limits.  In addition, the system will meet the lower BOD and TSS limits which will also be required by DNR for the system.

We will provide further updates as the upgrades to the lagoon system proceed.
